20.04.14 Wheel Barrow

Having re-designed the board bowl chopping board, I was inspired to design a wheelbarrow.  But having made a prototype based on the mechanism in the chopping board, I realised that I hadn't really improved on wheel barrow design (see video below).  The idea was ok, but I hadn't really addressed functionality especially in regards to storage.  So, I went back to the drawing board and developed a yard cart design that had much more adjustability and functionality than existing designs:

Having made the prototype I realise that this isn't the end of the story, there are so many areas that can be improved upon.  Ultimately I suppose the conclusion would be a super duper carrying robot that removes the need for human activity, but in between now and then we can definitely make better types of wheelbarrow/yard cart.  I'm thinking about barrows that can grow to carry items of differing lengths, or that use fulcrums to empty themselves, or can swap between different sized and shaped containers like a pallet truck.
